Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Experienced Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant for a Retail Business in Edson, Alberta.

We are looking for someone with a concern for accuracy while maintaining the ability to work within deadlines. The ability to problem solve with a strong understanding of accounting will be required.


College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years


2 year+ experience in accounting/bookkeeping

Experience using accounting software – Preferred

Specific Skills:

  • General bookkeeping duties
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Post journal entries
  • Processing accounts receivables and payables
  • Completing various remittance forms
  • Cashiering activities – deposits, credit card balancing, etc
  • Conducting month end activities and inventory controls
  • Other administrative duties as required
  • Assisting customers as needed.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems

This Bookkeeper will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely entry of computer data. Responsibilities of this position will be various accounting data entry tasks and general paperwork to support the accounting department. This position could include reconciliation of accounts, checking, coding and posting vendor invoices. General clerical items, maintaining vendor and customer accounts, using MS office and learning our point of sale system. There may also be various accounting tasks assisting team members to solve issues as they arise.

This position could have flexible hours with approx. 28 – 40 hours/ week – Monday to Friday and the occasional weekend.

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
